....We all have more in common with each other than we perhaps want to admit. At the end of the day we all simply want to be who we are and be accepted for that by others and, more importantly, by ourselves.

"Queens At Court" - a fascinating new documentary about the lives of 4 LGBT tennis athletes and the struggles they face finding acceptances with themselves and with others playing the sport they love.  The CCE Sports Network is a proud supporter of Queens At Court and its efforts to elevate the conversation about LGBT athletes.

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has always been a strong advocate in promoting diversity in sports and this year they continue their commitment by sponsoring 3 "Queen At Courts" screenings at the Emirates Airlines US Open Series Tour in Washington, DC (Citi Open, July 28th), Toronto, Canada (Rogers Cup,  August 6) and Winston-Salem, NC (Winston-Salem Open, August 20th).

Tickets for these events include the VIP reception with cocktails & hors d'oevures, screening of the film and Q&A with the director.  Also included is entry into the tournament's evening session matches.

This screening provides an opportunity for the general public, athletes & players to learn more about the challenges of LGBT athletes and their role in professional & amateur sports.  To purchase tickets, head to the Queen At Courts website.

QUEENS AT COURT follows 4 unique and diverse LGBTQ tennis players over the course of 8 months and 2 amateur tennis tournaments and documents their incredible stories of life on and off the tennis court.

Each player, in their own unique way, has undertaken a journey through adversity and doubt to find a place of acceptance and celebration, in their own identities, and in a community of fellow tennis players.

Together, their stories represent thousands of unique stories of LGBTQ athletes  who have found a community, a home, in their sport, and in their fellow athletes.

This documentary was created and produced by Shiv Paul.  The youngest of 5 kids, Shiv was born in India, raised in the UK and now lives in New York with his cat, Chicktoria Beckham.  Shiv has acted in TV, film, commercials and has worked as a journalist.  He received his MA from Glasgow University and has lived in Scotland, France, Italy & Bombay.  Currently living in NYC, Shiv works as both a diversity & inclusion coach and for a management consulting firm.  Shiv is joined by co-producer Ken Ross (founder of Urban+Out) and cinematographer/editor Aaron Schillinger.
