"Queens At Court" - a fascinating new documentary about the lives of 4 LGBT tennis athletes and the struggles they face finding acceptances with themselves and with others playing the sport they love. The CCE Sports Network is a proud supporter of Queens At Court and its efforts to elevate the conversation about LGBT athletes.
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has always been a strong advocate in promoting diversity in sports and this year they continue their commitment by sponsoring 3 "Queen At Courts" screenings at the Emirates Airlines US Open Series Tour in Washington, DC (Citi Open, July 28th), Toronto, Canada (Rogers Cup, August 6) and Winston-Salem, NC (Winston-Salem Open, August 20th).
Tickets for these events include the VIP reception with cocktails & hors d'oevures, screening of the film and Q&A with the director. Also included is entry into the tournament's evening session matches.
This screening provides an opportunity for the general public, athletes & players to learn more about the challenges of LGBT athletes and their role in professional & amateur sports. To purchase tickets, head to the Queen At Courts website.
QUEENS AT COURT follows 4 unique and diverse LGBTQ tennis players over the course of 8 months and 2 amateur tennis tournaments and documents their incredible stories of life on and off the tennis court.
Each player, in their own unique way, has undertaken a journey through adversity and doubt to find a place of acceptance and celebration, in their own identities, and in a community of fellow tennis players.
Together, their stories represent thousands of unique stories of LGBTQ athletes who have found a community, a home, in their sport, and in their fellow athletes.
